Last week I wrote on the
sixth amendment of the Tambon Council and Tambon Administrative Organization act, removing the limit of two consecutive terms for the TAO chairman. Now amendments for the acts covering the other local administrative units have been published in the Royal Gazette, all replacing previous regulations with the simple statement that the term of the chairman is four years starting from election day.
In detail, the following announcements were made
The only remaining local government unit is the city of Bangkok. According to
Wikipedia, the governor also has only two consecutive terms, but it seems this will not get changed now - the
announcement on the creation of a committee to discuss the amendments published in January does not mention the BMA.
